I've loved creating most of my life. My recent obsession is dot art mandala painting. I'm self taught with my only 'training' being YouTube videos....many, many videos. I work a 9-5 job but love to spend my off time getting my hands dirty painting on rocks, canvas, plates - nothing is safe from my dots.

The preferred medium for my dot art mandala painting is acrylic paint. The hobby craft paint is the best paint for nice consistent dots. You can use 'true' acrylic paint but need to thin it out to get it to the right consistency and since I don't really cook - I never seem to get the recipe right. :)

I've thought about why this form of art appeals to me. There's not a lot you can control in this world but I can control my dots. The symmetry in a mandala is soothing to my soul. I can pick muted colors or I can pick bold, loud colors. I can make the design intricate or simple. It all works and I love that.
